Last week, our College was buzzing with excitement as we hosted our Year 2 2026 Primary Orientation Morning . We were thrilled to throw open our gates and welcome 54 new students who will be joining the Wollemi family in 2026, across Years 2 to 5. The energy and enthusiasm from our new boys and their families were fantastic!

Our future Wollemi Men had a brilliant time diving headfirst into College life. A huge thank you goes to Mr Tu'ipulotu and our current Year 2 Teachers , who expertly guided the boys through a morning packed with action. From classroom activities involving a collection of fossilised creatures and shells from Mr Quan's scuba-diving collection that sparked their curiosity to team-building games outdoors in the sunshine, the boys got a perfect taste of the learning and adventure that awaits them. It was fantastic to see our Year 5 student helpers take the lead, as they will be our future leaders next year.

While the boys were busy exploring, parents attended an information session led by Mr Baxter. He shared valuable insights into the Wollemi journey, our values, and the strong sense of community that defines our College, supported by a group of Year 5 students.

We were incredibly proud of our current Year 5 students who stepped up to support the event. They were outstanding ambassadors for the College, guiding families, sharing their own experiences, and demonstrating the confidence and character we nurture in every Wollemi student.

A big thank you to all the new students and families who joined us for the day. Your participation and excitement made the day. We are already counting down the days until we can officially welcome all these future Wollemi Men to our community in 2026 !

Mr Nathan Quan, Primary Teacher & Mentor

On Tuesday, 11th November, Barachiel A, Uriel A, Gabriel K & Michael C performed the National Anthem in a solemn but uplifting ceremony at St Marys RSL for Remembrance Day . They sang beautifully, and their harmonies provided creative nuance. Afterwards, several members of the audience congratulated the boys for their contribution to the service. The students put a significant amount of their own time into rehearsing the anthem, which was very commendable.

Also, Lawrence DR and Dominic R were steady and discerning wreath bearers who fulfilled their duty, presenting the floral tribute with poise and a deep understanding of the formality of their role .

All students attending were excellent ambassadors for the school.

Last Thursday, Years 2, 3 & 4 experienced the thrill of hearing a live, professional string quartet, and it was incredible.

The students got to hear beautiful string playing, interact with the performers and learn about how important it is to practice -  just like playing sport and being part of a team.

Team Phoenix (The Phoenix String Quartet) played excerpts from Dvorak's American String Quartet and even some Shostakovich, which was full of energy and excitement.

This performance was an amazing opportunity for the students, and some seeds were sown in their developing minds.

My name is Kabeer A (Year 9) , and I am an Army Cadet at the 21 Army Cadet Unit . Lucas L is my senior and one of the people I look up to most in the unit. From the first day I joined, he has always been someone who guides younger cadets, leads with confidence, and sets the standard for how we should carry ourselves.

I’m proud to share that Lucas was awarded “Senior Cadet/NCO of the Year 2025” for 21 ACU , presented by the Blue Mountains Vietnam Veterans .

Those of us who work alongside Lucas know just how well-deserved this recognition is. He’s a dedicated and reliable leader who consistently shows professionalism, teamwork, and discipline. Whether it’s on parade, in the field, or helping new cadets build their confidence, Lucas leads by example and earns the respect of everyone around him .

This award not only recognises his personal effort but also reflects the high standards he helps maintain across our unit. Congratulations, Lucas - your hard work and leadership continue to inspire the whole team .

Kabeer A, Year 9 Student

There will be Literature studies and discussions offered at lunchtime for students in Years 9-11, who have a particular interest in literature and the classics.

Workshops will involve discussions of literary articles, authors, poems, reviews, academic literary discourse, contemporary issues, and literature in its various forms, spanning a range of literary periods.

A forum for the exchange of ideas. Voluntary attendance is open to all interested in Years 9-12 .

Entendre commenced in Term 3 and continues to run in Term 4 on Fridays at lunchtime in D5 with Mr White .

School student travel information for parents and students

School Travel Passes

Applications are now open for 2026 School Student Transport Scheme (SSTS) travel.

Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their School Opal card at their nominated postal address from mid-January 2026.

Students who require a School Opal card or travel pass but have not yet applied need to apply for a new card or update their existing card as soon as possible. Students who receive a notification that their School Opal card is expiring need to re-submit their details.

If a student has lost their School Opal card, they will need to apply for a replacement card . Note: a new card will not be issued if an existing School Opal card is updated online – you must submit a replacement application if a School Opal card is lost.

In the Opal network, students should travel with a Child/Youth Opal card until they receive their valid School Opal card. If outside Greater Sydney, parents should contact their local bus operator to discuss their travel needs.

Students living in rural and regional areas will receive their travel pass from their nominated transport operator. It may be issued via their school or be sent directly to them at home. Note : some rural and regional operators do not issue travel passes. Students/parents should confirm with their nominated operator if they do not receive a pass.

Terms of Use

Students using School Opal cards must tap on and tap off in line with the Opal terms of use .

This includes travel within the approved times between 6.30am and 7.00pm from Monday to Friday on school days only. Students must use their Child/Youth Opal card for any travel outside these times.

All students are required to comply with the Student code of conduct . The code of conduct aims to ensure the safety and well-being of school children and other passengers. It is important that parents ensure their child is aware of this, as failure to comply with the code of conduct can result in a suspension from travel.

In line with the decision made at the AGM, we are now holding a member consultation period for the proposed policy.
