At the end of Term 1, the Elective Agriculture class ventured into Homebush to visit the Sydney Royal Easter Show. We started out going on the animal walk, feeling the super-soft sheep's wool and watching very clean and healthy-looking goats being judged. We were able to pat some playful and friendly lambs and kids (baby goats), and we were amazed at the huge size of some of the Angus bulls. Just before coming home, we completed an educational course about chocolate. We learned about the origins of the cacao bean, and we tested the quality of some types of chocolate you can buy in the supermarket. Everyone had a very memorable day!
