In Week 5, our Year 2–4 students marked the end of the Month of Mary with a beautiful Marian Pilgrimage that combined prayer, reflection, and plenty of fun. The day began with students praying the Rosary on the bus journey to St Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. At the church, Mr. Breen led a second Rosary with the students, helping them reflect on the virtues of Our Lady and the meaning of the Sorrowful Mysteries in their lives.
A special moment of serendipity occurred when we unexpectedly met Mr. Frank Monagle, one of the Founding members of our school, during our visit to the church. It was a memorable encounter that added great meaning to the day.
Following the visit to St Charles Borromeo, students celebrated the end of their pilgrimage with two hours of swimming and fun at Ryde Leisure and Aquatic Centre. The giant slide and rapids were a major hit, with laughter and excitement echoing throughout the centre. The fun was so great that many items of clothing were left behind and can now be found in lost property.
A big thank you to all the parents for their patience and understanding as our coach returned right in the middle of afternoon pick-up. Your support made this special day possible for the students, teachers, and parent volunteers.
It was a wonderful way to end the Month of Mary — in prayer, community, and celebration.
