On Saturday, the 5th of April 2025, Year 5 had their Father Son camp at Blue Gum Lodge, up in the picturesque Blue Mountains.

After a brief catch up which included morning tea, the sons and their fathers embarked on a variety of fun-filled activities, which included multi-golf, catapult and free sport (which consisted of swimming, basketball, futsal, touch footy, volleyball, cricket - THE WORKS!)

We then had our Annual Rosary by the campfire, with Jeremiah T, Vincenzo Z, Patrick S, Dominic S and Toby W leading a decade of the Rosary each. It was a wonderful way to wind down Day 1. But before we headed to bed, we had a great Father Son BBQ (which we did to knock the energy out of the kids before bed - it worked a treat!) and games. It was a fantastic end to the day - with the wonderful singing efforts adding a soothing comfort to those going to sleep (so they think).

The next day started with a bushwalk which consisted of some slips and many leeches (which I didn't realise until I got home!) but the scenery was amazing! Some went swimming, some played cricket but the energy was the same across all activities.

We would like to thank Father Felix and Father Anthony for Mass at camp, Andrew Zahra and Danny Morched for helping with the running of the camp, Mr Johnson for organising it, and the Fathers and Sons for another wonderful Father Son camp. Thank you to Mr Baxter, Mr Uyeda and Mr Attia for turning up with their children. The kids got a massive kick out of seeing you all there! A HUGE thank you goes to Mrs Geagea, for organising and picking up the food for the BBQ. It was a hit! Thank you!

To think, there are only 3 more Father Son camps for this group. It is a privilege watching them all grow up and I am looking forward to the next one already.
