Last Friday, Wollemi Primary was bursting with colour, laughter, and stories as we celebrated our Book Week 2025 Book Parade and Family Fun Day in Week 6. This year’s theme, “Book an Adventure”, set the perfect stage for our students and teachers to step into the pages of their favourite stories.
The playground came alive with imagination as all our Year 2–3 students transformed into beloved book characters, from magical creatures to daring adventurers. Our teachers also joined in the fun, delighting everyone by dressing as classics from Bananas in Pyjamas all the way to Olaf from Frozen! A big thank you to all the families who joined the celebration and the picnic and games afterwards - you all make the Wollemi community such a special place.
The day also marked the culmination of the inaugural Wollemi Primary Readathon, with a huge congratulations to all our raffle prize winners who were drawn during the parade. Together, our school community pledged an outstanding $3,200 for the Australian Dyslexia Foundation, making a real difference for children and families who benefit from their important work.
A heartfelt thank you goes to every student, parent, and staff member who supported this initiative with such enthusiasm. Don’t forget — students still have until the end of term to return their Fundraising Pledges.
What an adventure-filled day of reading, creativity, and celebration for the joy of reading!
