A HUGE THANK YOU to all Wollemi students and families for their support of our St Vincent De Paul Coin and Care Mufti Day held on Nov 26 this year. The generosity of our students and their families was overwhelming, we were inundated with donated items to pack and deliver to those in need.
Each class’s donation boxes overflowed with a range of items from poppers and chips, muesli bars and cans of tuna, to biscuits and noodles.
We collected enough items to make over 500 care packs for the homeless which were then bundled into individual care packs by our Year 7 students as part of their community service in the second last week of Term 4. These care packs will be distributed to the homeless by St Vincent De Paul over Christmas and will mean the world to someone or a family going without.
A big thank you to our Year 10 class and Mr James for their help collating and stock-taking all the donated items. In addition to the donated items, the School also collectively raised over $250 for St Vincent De Paul through our mufti day.
This is an extraordinary effort by the School Community and is indicative of the tremendous generosity and care of Wollemi families.
