After 2 years of COVID disruptions, our Book Week celebrations have roared back to life!
Over the past few weeks, the Primary students have been hard at work on a number of creative projects. Our Year 2 and 3 classes have been hard at work creating their book covers, ready to be showcased in the library. Year 4 produced some amazing posters to advertise our Book Week celebrations around the primary area.
Author and illustrator Frané Lessac and Mark Greenwood visited our school to talk to the boys. The boys were enthralled with tales of outback adventures, lost treasure, and life in the Caribbean. Lennox Gregana (4B) even got to hold a few real gold nuggets! Other guest readers have been visiting Year 2 over the past few weeks to present the books nominated for the Wollemi Picture Book of the Year Award 2022.
Particular highlights were the visit of our Headmaster James Ramos and school leaders, Captain Daniel O'Neill and Vice Captain Jeremy Wright, who took time away from their study periods to promote reading in the classroom. A big thank you from the students!
Exciting times at Wollemi!
